Workshop BZIO and UZ Gent

With the XRehab team, we visited BZIO and UZ Gent for an XR workshop for therapists, where we introduced some new prototypes.

With the Visual Field Explorer, we demonstrated with VR and integrated Eye Tracking how to easily test and visualize the visual field and attention range of patients with hemianopsia and neglect. This game works with fixation control and peripheral stimuli are offered only when fixation is correct.

Gaze Booster is a visual search task in a forest environment. This game works without controllers using VR and Eye Tracking. If the patient looks at a target, the reaction time is stored and a new target appears in a different location. The location and amount of targets and distractors can be set based on the patient's level.

These sessions were again a very instructive experience for all parties!

Thanks Verbruggen Thijs, Hanne Maebe, Jens Bauters, Sofie Slos, for organization and help with these workshops. Thanks also to all participating therapists for the valuable feedback! The results will be incorporated into a blueprint around use and development of XR for the rehabilitation sector.
